Brisbane - Buranda - Buranda Bowls Club Jubilee Sign (21 Jan 2007)
Former Buranda Bowls Club

Update January 2012: Thanks to Kevin from Brisbane for advising that the club was completely demolished in about 2010 when the Langlands Park Busway Station was built to form part of the Eastern Corridor Busway.

According to a heading on the notice board, the club was operating as recently as 2005 but by the state of the bowling greens its been at least a year since they were maintained.

The club house is still in very good condition and was mostly securely locked up. One door, to a storage area was standing open however. The club rooms seem to be used by someone still as there is a TV and VCR set up with seating in front of the screen and various provisions can still be seen on the benches in the kitchen. Also, a refigeration or air-conditioning compressor is still operating at the back of the club building.

If you have any information about this club and its history I would love to hear from you by email or in my Visitor's Book.
