Coolana - St Johns Lutheran Church (3 Nov 2007)
Coolana

Coolana is another tiny settled area near the Warrego (Brisbane-Toowoomba) highway. According to the former Esk Shire Council website "Coolana was once known as Hillside and there was a Hillside receiving office from 1898 to about 1916. Another receiving office was opened in 1923, however the name was changed to the Coolana receiving office to avoid confusion with another Hillside district south of Ipswich. No English meaning is known for Coolana which is thought to be Aboriginal and was suggested by local residents. ".

There's much more to Coolana so I'll do a more thorough photographic investigation next time I'm nearby.
