Rathdowney - St Marys Catholic Church

The small town of Rathdowney (pop. 350) is about 30 kms south of Beaudesert (see separate page). It is a typical Queensland small town with its own interesting history.

For more information on the town and environs, visit Web Site.

Rathdowney Hotel

The Rathdowney Hotel is the only pub in town and therefore is a popular watering place and meal stop for locals and travellers alike.

Rathdowney - Picnic Area

A pretty and functional picnic and rest area has been established across from the pub in Rathdowney.

Rathdowney - Newsagent and Butcher

Rathdowney has a newsagency and a butcher shop, although the latter currently stands empty.

Rathdowney Post Office

The Rathdowney Post Office.

Rathdowney Bowls Club

I didn't expect to find a Bowls Club in Rathdowney, given their, shall we say, rationalisation in Brisbane.

Rathdowney Showgrounds

The Rathdowney Showgrounds are well maintained and obviously are one of the town's focal points,

Rathdowney - St Davids Anglican Church

St David's Anglican Church is nestled in a back street of Rathdowney.

Rathdowney - St Marys Catholic Church

St Mary's Catholic Church in Rathdowney is a typical example of a picturesque timber country church.
