I will always remember Avila for its magnificent world heritage walls, giant plaza and wonderful cathedral. See this web site for more information on Avila. The town is compact enough to explore thoroughly on foot.
We stayed at the Hostal Las Cancelas. It is a stylish and comfortable hostel in a historic building which has been an inn for centuries. We were only there for one night and, unusually for us, dined at a wonderful Chinese restaurant with excellent decor just outside the city walls.
