Salamanca is bursting with interesting places to explore and, being a university city, is bustling with youthful energy from around the world. The University, Plaza Mayor, Museum of Art Deco and Art Nuevo; too many interesting places to visit for one trip.

Salamanca - Roman Bridge

Yet another Roman bridge still in operation, this one in Salamanca - they truly don't build them like that any more!

Salamanca - Cathedral

The grand exterior of the "new" cathedral in Salamanca. It is so big, it encloses the "old" cathedral.

Salamanca - Museo Art Deco

A highlight of my trip to Spain in 2003 was visiting the Museum of Art Deco and Art Nouveau in Salamanca.

Salamanca - Plaza Mayor

The excellent Plaza Mayor in Salamanca, complete with Japanese tourist. It is an excellent example of the Spanish city square and is reputed to be the best in the country.

Salamanca - University Entrance

The entrance to the university in Salamanca. Somewhere on the facade here is "La Rana de Suerte" (the frog of good luck) - can you see it?
