Segovia was a "must see" for me because of the famous Roman Aqueduct. I didn't expect it to be such
a neat and interesting town with its Cathedral and Castle. Another great day trip from Madrid!

The extremely well preserved alcazar (castle) in Segovia.
The view across the countryside from the Segovia castle walls. A river provided extra
protection from attack. Notice how yellow/brown the countryside is at the end of the
hot and dry Spanish Summer.
The impressive Segovia Cathedral sits imposingly on a hill.
The view through one of the arches of the Roman aqueduct in Segovia. Note again the
distinctive colour of the countryside and the way the town ends suddenly.
The wonderful Segovia Roman aqueduct itself.
The amazing tower of a church on the path from the Aqueduct to the Cathedral in Segovia.
The tower seems to have Visigothic, Moorish and later Christian additions.
