Valencia was the biggest surprise for me in Spain. It is a delight; full of old ornate heritage buildings, bustling markets, the best food and a historical overload. We stayed at the excellent Hostal El Rincon and thoroughly recommend it. You need a week to see everything here!

The course of the river, which once flowed through the town centre, has been changed, leaving the old river bed to be turned into playing fields, walking tracks etc. |
